18A - Blonde Ale - Centennial Blonde

Style: 18A - Blonde Ale

I've made this before but steered it more in the direction of a bitter which I enjoyed. This one follows the guidelines for an American Blonde Ale with all Centennial hops.

Recipe is based on an old classic originally posted in the home brew talk forums by user BierMuncher in 2007. Check my recipe (linked below) for tweaks I made to the original.

Full recipe is on BF but here's the TL;DR
  • brew day: 2018-3-3 (2nd brew of the day)
  • Malts: 2-row, Munich, Honey
  • Hop: Centennial
  • Yeast: SafAle S-04
  • OG: 1.044, FG 1.010, ABV 4.5%
Mash temp

Brewday beer

Centennial hops, 60g late addition at 5m

Chilling and ready for fermenter - going on yeast cake from English IPA

Carbed and ready to go. This is tasting nice - the Centennial is a perfect match for this style, clean bitterness and a pleasant fruity finish.
