22A - Double IPA - Double Double

Style: 22A - Double IPA

Double Double is a DIPA made with 2 malts and 2 hops.

Full recipe is at brewersfriend, but here's the TL;DR
  • Brewday: 2018-4-14
  • Malts: Maris Otter, 2-Row
  • Hops: Citra, Nelson Sauvin
  • Yeast: SafAle S-04 (English Dry)
  • OG 1.078, FG 1.010, ABV 8.9%
  • kegged: 2018-4-28
brewday beer: River North's Mountain Haze

Milling

Lots of grains. 9.5kg for a 24L batch in a 7G bucket.
The bag was crazy heavy and I may have pulled something after lifting it out of the mash.

Mash temp

Boil

84g each of Nelson Sauvin and Citra

Wort sample

Brix reading which worked out to 1.078

2018-4-24: 360g (15g/L) Citra, Nelson Sauvin, and Hallertau Blanc (ran out of NS) dry hops added

2018-4-30 carbonated. Kegged 4-28. Tasting delicious!

2018-6-8: last pour before the keg kicked. Got mostly clear near the end.
